I'm confused about politics,why does the U.S. continue to aid Pakistan?

The US believes in helping others no matter how much ''A LOT'' of them hate Americans.Ive seen them threatening America on the news myself, I see it all the time, so to be honest it confuses me also. Some believe Pakistan is using the money to make more nuclear weapons to try and attack the US, so it looks like we may very well be paying them to hurt/kill us, so to speak.Nobody knows the real reason we continue to aid countries who are so eager to show the US how much they would like to destroy us, if they got half a chance.Some deny that Pakistanians want to hurt Americans, but they just need to open their eyes, they show demonstrations of the hate constantly on the news.Only our government knows the real reason why the US is supporting people like this, and they're not letting we as the public know the real reasons for this, nor are they asking our opinions on this matter.You can ask 100 people and they'll all give you a different reason as to why, but the truth is, ''we do not know why''.
