Atheists, do you believe in the historical premise that more advanced people should enlighten 'savages'?

Like the Spaniards wiping out native social and political structures in the New World (killing many of course but it was justified because theyre so backwards and we're better). Same with Romans absorbing Germanic ect tribes, or Whites wiping out Native Americans .. So our more scientifically advanced and popular secularized society should wipe out the religious now ? Whats different? Please dont tell me it was the religious thought that caused all these actions in the past when i see the same line of thinking in your ideology .. just tell me if you think its justified, or explain it in terms that make it ok for you to engage in the same thing as has always caused blood to flow up to the horses bridle to make room for the more civil and 'advanced' civilization .....
