How can I treat a poorly hen naturally?

if it was one of mine i would put it in the bathroom turn on the hot tap so its sort of like a steam room and leave it for a while? its only a idea might not work but its worth a go ? also do you clean the chicken coop out regularly? if not that can cause respiratory problems
