Bought a racehorse for a pet (no longer racing) - safe to place in forest/shrub/bush land?

Im in Australia. I just bought a racehorse who stopped racing only 7 days ago. We have acreage but it is bushland. With trees fallen down. Stumps etc. Would it be unsafe for the horse to be placed in there as it may have trouble with all the logs etc and trip or fall over them? Maybe try running fast and or not see them? I heard that race horses can have trouble in bush that they need a paddock? Is that true? Thanks so much for any help!
