Mercury Mariner 2008?

Hey there, was wondering if anyone on here has a 2008 Mariner? I'm going to be buying a new car next year (I have a lease now) and am trying to decide between the Mariner or the Ford Escape. Any comments welcome...thanks! PS-read the reviews on the Mariner on Edmunds and so far all positive except for the penger seat which isn't automatic.
