What is stephanie Powells job in No Ordinary Family?

I don't think they've really been specific about her job, just that she's a research scientist in a lab. That one episode where her and JJ did the surgery on the teacher showed that she could have gone in the medical field but she didn't so that might have something to do with her job on the show.
